Section : Hoods and Hardtops

The hard top I have has a very thin hard rubber type seal along the bottom edge that scratches the paintwork on the body. I was thinking of fitting a boot
rubber type seal to it, smething a bit softer ams thicker. I saw something like this being used on the big black with white strpes spitfire that is always
at the shows.
Anyone know what type of seal is best?

Hi Simon,
It might be worth trying a Herald Coupe roof to deck seal, very popular with owners of other cars with removeable hardtops. There's a cross section on
the "Extrusions.pdf" listing on my website, or drop me a line if you'd like a sample,
Cheers,
Bill.

Simon,
Did you have any luck with this? I've just found myself with the same problem and wondered about fabricating a seal to go between the hardtop and the
bodywork. Need to start getting ready for winter too!! Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Matthew

Hard top seal to bodywork

Is that to replace the carpeted / felted seal that runs along the inside edge of the hardtop, ie the seal with the bodywork. I had another look
at the hardtop and there is no seal around the outside edge. The rimmer catalogue seems as though there is no such part...
