with the nice weather we are having the hood has been going up and down like a yo-yo causing two poppers to fail. What do i need to fix new poppers on and
were can i get relevant equipment and poppers (plus are the poppers a standard size?)

I got some from Debenhams or somewhere similar. Big department store with sewing/knitting secion anyway.
They cost a couple of pounds and come with a plastic thing for fitting them. Basically that, a piece of wood and a lump hammer did the job.

You can buy them from specialists as well. Rimmers/moss etc stock them (probably others as well). I don't know how they compare on price with
Debenhams.
There are two types available, metal ones and plastic ones. Metal tops don't fit plastic bases so you need the right kind (or change both halves or
all of them).
The fitting tool I have is basically a shaped punch and an anvil. I have metal studs on my car and I find this tool tends to mark the heads when
you knock the centre down. Anybody come up with an answer to that one?
