Don't know for sure, but since Triumph fitted 5.5" steel wheels to the Spitfire 1500 as standard (I think!!), 6" wheels THAT HAVE THE CORRECT OFFSET
should not be a problem.
However, it's not just the wheels that matter, but what size tyres you fit to those wheels. If you look at earlier postings on this message board you
should find plenty of discussions about what tyres will fit without fouling wheelarches and suspensions.

I thought that 5.5j's were only fitted to GT6s.
All the Spitfires I've ever seen have been fitted with either 4.5j or 5j wheels as standard on late cars.
Some spits have been retro fitted with 5.5j's from GT6s but I didn't think that 5.5js were a
standard factory fit on Spitfires
Anyone know for sure????

I will probly go for 185 60s...Controversial I know, but Ive tried several different sizes over the years and they seem to work the best for me.
The lower profile should help with the front arches fouling.
Has any one else got 6j wolfraces on out there who can advise me?
Thanks
Jon

They will likley fit fine at the rear but will protrude from the wheel arches on the front... it's your choice!

Nigel is that an MOT fail...would the arches need to be flaired?
I'm in the middle of a rebuild and don't think i can face any more body work!
Thanks
