HS4 needles

Hi all, I have a 1979 1500 with the following engine mods- stage 3 head, fast road cam, 4 into 1 exhaust, lightened flywheel and ballanced rods and flywheel. when I first got the car it ticked over dreadfull but traced that prob. to timing set at 4deg btdc. problem now it goes well but seems to leave an unburnt petrol smell in its wake, the needles fitted are AAL? any ideas folks.

  With that degree of modification if it's not had a session on a rolling road with a good tuner it would probably benefit from one, cost last time I saw was about Â£60 per hour and you would probably need a couple of hours.
  
  Remember tuning SUs isn't just about needles but springs and damper oil as well.
  
  Have a search for rolling road on the site and you might find a previous recommendation in your area.
