As you will see when you can check the archives, any weber carburettor fitted to our engine will need to be put on a rolling road to be properly set
up. They use fixed jets and cannot be fiddled like an SU can be, the manuals reference for this should only be used as a starting point, fine
adjustment needs the help of a professional with a rolling road. I have seen as much as a 37% power increase on a weber set up by taking it from the
jets stated in the manual and fine tuning it for a couple of hours... money well spent
AFAIK there should be no difference in timing, but I would hasten to add that the manual figures were for a different kind of petrol than we have today
and you should adjust your timing yourself to suit your engine. It is better to have it too retarded than too advanced as the results will be a loss of
potential power rather than a destroyed engine.
