Hi all
Does anyone know of or has purchased an uprated, thicker manifold gasket? I have tried to put two of these things on now and they have been just rubbish!!
Always ends up with me using gun gum!! A friend told me there was a thicker version that was alot easier to seal that was used in racing but he could not
recall where he saw these.
Any help would be gratefully recieved!

Hi Ian
Im having the same problem on the race car.Basically the gaskets im using are like a steel sandwich and the centre exhaust ports opens up the steel
sandwich alowing the gases to escape between the layers of metal once again the only way i can get them to seal in the first instance is to use fire
putty.I have spoken to Mark @ Jigsaw Racing and i am going to try a couple of different types that he supplys i will let you know the outcome.
Regards
Ian

Hi Ian!
Thanks for the reply! Yes, please keep me updated regarding the gasket testing? I cant believe we are the only people who have had this problem? I
will give the fire putty a go when I get round to doing this but I will try and find one of these elusive thicker gaskets my friend mentioned. If I
do I will share with all ha ha!!
cheers!!

Just a quick note. I have purchased some gaskets from Jigsaw so will report on how these go. I did track down the other company that supplied
the thicker gaskets. They are PRI and are based in the USA! I am sure they are a good bet but they want $36 for one - includes p&p.

I had trouble sealing mine recently but cured it by fiting two gaskets.

I have resorted to a gasket with a layer of firegum which seems to work well. Just can't get the nuts to stay tight - nother tread on
that somewhere near!
