Hi. I want to replace my full sport exhaust with something less noisy. I have read all prevous comments on the message board re. this problem however no
one to my knowlage has mentioned fitting the standard GT6 system/ back box to a Spitfire, does anyone no if this is possible with or without adaptation and
if so what incar noise levels can I expect

You may find the pipe diameters are different, bigger for the 2 litre engine. If not, then physically a GT6 box should fit. You could probably get
adaptor pieces to fit one to the other, but this might upset gas flows and change the exhaust sound or even affect engine running, but not as much as
the change from standard to full sport system. You may need to change carb needles again?
How about fitting the semi-sport exhaust system? May be a little quieter? Anyone out there got experience on the 1500 system?

Hi,
The semi sports back box is not a lot quiter than the full sports, it is definately louder than a GT6 box.
The semi sports box is the same layout as the GT6 box as my old one is now on a GT6 but needed sleeving down from the GT centre pipe, however this
still proved less restrictive than a standard GT6 back box. There shouldn't be any problem fitting a GT6 back box on a Spit, you'd probably need a
GT6 centre pipe to mate onto the extractor manifold (assuming you've got one) or to mate the back box onto a new centre pipe and sell the old full
sports system complete.
