I too have a semi sport back box and extractor manifold. Apparently it is loud to those following but I find it's okay whilst in the car especially
when treating the throttle delicately.
Under load it can get quite raspy (especially through underpasses etc

) but once backed off it is okay, and most town
driving doesnt need large revs or bootfuls of throttle, out of town is different and personally I love it!
Some have commented how nice it sounds, others disagree. I don't think there is mch baffling in the box at all hence the noise, the rasp probably just
a result of the frequency of exhaust pulses at that rev range. You could try poking some coarse wire wool (maybe stainless pan scourers) down the
tailpipes (but not so far that it isn't retreivable) and see if it helps, but that kind of defeats the point of a free flow box. ear plugs might help
also.
I've just had the manifold off to heat wrap it and there's a tiny blow from the joint where it went back on, but if you've got a leak you'd be able to
hear the escape under the car from the side.
Failing that revert to standard as the noise isn't to everyone's taste.
