My Spitfire 1500's fuse box is hanging out and flopping around waiting to short on the bulkhead.
There doesn't appear to be any way of fastening it to the bulkhead. There are no screws, clips or lugs and I can't see anything on the inside of the
bulkhead. Surely it wasn't held on by double sided tape!!
Also, all my lights failed last week. This was traced to the fuse box where, over time, the heat from the wires had melted the plastic. The fuse end
actually forms part of the circuit and the melted plastic has caused a "break" in the fuse box connection. I'm planning to run in a new 15A - 20A wire
direct from the starter solenoid to the switch thereby by-passing this connection. Has anyone done this before or spot any potential elephant traps?
Can anyone out there help please?

There's a couple of lugs on the back of the fuse box to fix it to the bulkhead, they've probably broken off.
Its very common for them to over heat & melt the plastic. New ones are about £25, I was lucky to find a good s/h one for 50p. Although
a bit of corrosion on one of the connectors caused me to break down last week, maybe it wasn't such a bargain after all!

Charles, Many thanks. I'll have another look but it does sound as if they've both broken off. Time to get out the drill and self tappers!! Hope you
manage to fix your own problem soon. Ian

Once I found the problem, a light sand of the contacts & it was fine. I've put the fuses back with a little vaselene to hopefully stop it
happening again.
