Hi guys,
Having electricity issues with my Mark IV, Basically it's used every day for work, I charge the battery on a sunday and then the next friday morning there
is no electricity left. The most obvious reason for this would be a knackerd battery if that is the case why would it work fine for four days? Plus it's
only six months old. If the alternator was knackered then wouldn't the battery run down far quicker than four trips to and from work (about 30 mins each
way). So, any ideas?

Couple of things, It may be the alternator is just slowly failing, and is giving slight charge.
Also, My girlfriends Sprite (*Spits*) ran about 50 miles after her fan belt snapped, she told me after setting off that a red light came on (Charge
warning) but got home 50 miles later, possibly due to the newly charged battery the day before!
Read from that what you will!

It can only be one of three possibilities - faulty battery, faulty alternator, or a poor connection. You seem confident it's not the battery or
alternator so the next step is to check the connections to the battery are in good clean condition, check the connections to the starter motor are
clean and tight, and check the earth strap from the battery to the body is good and clean, also check the earth braid from the engine is good condition
(I don't know where this is on a Spitty). Finally check all the control wire connections are in good order on the alternator, starter solenoid,
etc.
One final thought, it could be a dodgy starter motor.
