Hi Tony
In my Spitfire, I have 3 gauges where the radio normally goes, in an extra piece of dash. They are, from left to right, voltmeter - clock - oil
pressure.
Other Spit MK IV and 1500 owners have been known to add the gauges to their existing dashboards in the places where you would normally find
air-vents in a GT6mk3. There are cut-outs in the metalwork behind the wooden dash panels in these locations - be careful if you follow this
option: it is very easy to splinter the vaneer when cutting holes in your dashboard, leaving an ugly mess.
The extra dash panel that I have fitted was supplied from the club shop:

it is straightforward to fit and looks as though Triumph always intended it to be there.
BTW: I had originally intended to re-locate the radio to the driver's side glove-box (nicely hidden from casual observers) but it wouldn't be
heard anyway over the noise from the twin exhausts so it's still sitting on the shelf in my garage!
cheers
Paul
