Hi!
None of the above work on my spitfire 1500. I have checked all fuses, which are fine. I have looked at haynes and these items all seem to be linked in some
way on one part of a circuit (i know very little so dont laugh!). Can anyone help? Is it likely to be a bad earth or something? If say the wiper motor has
failed would that stop other two working? One important thing, when they first stopped working i left the wipers on and miracously they beagn working again
for a short time like there was aa loose wire or something. They haven't worked for a while though.
Many thanks!

Hi Mark,
Do you mean speedo or tacho?

Hi again,
What I meant to go on and say is:
Assuming it is the tacho that is not working (which is on the same circuit as the other two items) I would check the following in this order.
1. The 4 way connector which joins the four green wires together which feed these items (you will have to find it first though). These corrode and
make a bad connection, or even break up inside. I'd bank on the problem being here.
2 The fuse. Although the fuse is OK, is power reaching it? if so, perhaps the fuse connections need cleaning or the fuse-end of the green wire is
loose? You can check if power is reaching and leaving the fuse with a simple test lamp, with the other side connected to a good earth (check it on
the battery first!)
3 Check the white wire at both ends, on the fuse holder or the ignition switch.
It is not an earthing problem, unless you have three separate faults! Also it is not the ignition switch - assuming the car runs, that is - because
the ignition coil is fed from the same point.
Regards
Roger

For what it's worth: I lost tacho, temp guage, fuel guage and wipers last time out. One lead had come off the wiper swith-sorted.

Hi Keith!
Thanks for the thought. I bet it will be something as simple as that. I need to have a good rummage around. Willl let you know how it
goes.
Thanks again.

Many thanks Roger!
Yes i did mean tacho! Also, bought tons of new fuses so pretty sure not that problem (though not ruling out!). The four way connector sounds
like the prob. Will it be beind the facia panel?
Again, thanks for your help!
Mark.
