Hi
i have been reading about fiberglass panels and like the sound of 'NO ROT', but i have not found anywhere to show you how to attach them to a mainly steel
structure.....
AND being a MK3 spit i have chrome finishing strips on the bonnet and the rear wings... will these still fit?
Any help welcomed from this very novice welder...

I guess you are thinking rear wings as most other panels avaliable in GRP (doors, bonnet, boot) are just bolt on.
I use self tapping screws to hold my GRP rear wings on though mine is a race car and swift panel replacement is a bonus, I've used pop rivet too. For a
more pernament fit I would fibreglass them on with a 1" strip round all the inside seams.
Edit, after further thought this would be difficult if you still have the inner wheel arches in place, so screws, rivets or glue are your options.
Getting your trim strips to fit will be a problem as the GRP is thicker than steel so you'd need to sand the thickness down a fair bit, though for the
bonnet you can get a GRP version made without the upstands for the smooth look.
