Flexing body?

Posted By : Steve Gibbs, 18-May-2007, 08:03pm

Hi all,
I am hoping that someone can help me with the following.
I have a spit 1500 that i believe was restored in the early 90's, I have been trying to sort the door gaps on the near side (eventually after 5 years). The problem is that there seems to be a lot of flex in the body i.e slight pressure on top of the B post results in the gap at the top of the door closing up. This also happens on the off side, but not to the same extent.
There is NO rust in the sills or floor, in fact the whole car is very sound.
My concern is that there are no inner strengtheners in the sills.
My questions:-
1) Is there any way that i can check this?
2) Is there any way that i can open up the gap between the A and B posts without major surgery?

Many thanks in anticipation.

Steve.
