Mazda MX5 Seats for sale

Anyone interested in a pair of late (MK.2) Mazda MX5 seats to fit in their Spitfire.

Both in excellent condition, black cloth face with vinyl sides and back. Complete with subframes, reclining and slide mechanism.

I bought these for a packet (Â£200) as they are good Mk. 2 seats and are almost like new, to fit my GT6 but unfortunatly headroom will be an issue as I'm over 6'. Not an issue with shorter drivers or a Spitfire even with the hood up. Good looking and supportive, plus they won't get hot in the sun.

Going on eBay, but I thought I would give a heads up to club members before I did. Good ones going for over Â£150 on eBay, make me an offer. Collection from Stoneleigh Area or NEC area only.

In support of Stephens post, I fitted MX5 seats to my Spitfire recently and this is what they look like. If like me you have a roll bar it does compromise the recline slightly, but I've found with raising front squab by about 2 cms and the rear by 1cm it is possiile to get a decent position. You do sit higher, but they are far more comfortable than the standard seats

  Is it possible to fit the Mazda seats into a Spit without huge amounts of re-positioning and shuffling things about? My original seats are quite uncomfortable, especially on long journeys.

    Yes, they are easy (ish) to fit once you've modified the runners of the Mazda seats - follow the link below to see the details I followed, my only change was to drill two new holes in the floor pan for the front fixings, I used the existing bolt fixings at the rear. It is a little fiddly getting the spanners on the appropriate nuts, but with a bit of jiggling around it took about an hour to fit each seat.

    I raised the Drivers seat as I am using this car on the 10 Countries Run later this year and my brother (Co Driver) is longer legged than me so I wanted to get the seat base to push further back and the spacers let the seat ride over the slight hump by the rear of the tunnel.
    
    The passenger seat was a simple bolt in job without the height adjusting spacers - as I said in my earlier post, the Roll Bar does restrict the recline, but on a normal Spitfire this is not a problem

      The seats are currently tucked away in my loft to keep them safe, but I will post some photo's on Tues when I'm back at home.
      
      The seats fit in really well if you have more headroom and offer much better latteral support (you don't slide over the handbrake when you go around a roundabout).
      
      Also they are very cumfy. Just ask a MX5 owner.

        Available again as buyer had financial pinch.
        
        Here are the photo's as promised.
        
        I had a good look at them - the only bad bits are a very small tear in the vinyl on the back of the drivers seat, and a couple of small nicks on the side of the passenger seat, but these would be against the carpet. Both are very minor and otherwise the seats are mint.
        
        The centre section is a soft material with a short "pile" while the edges are black cloth. The back is vinyl as is the underside of the front of the seat. The reclining mech' is on a handle at the side. The headrest is a complete part of the seat and is solid (the earlier mk.1 had tiny speakers in the headrest - sounded awful).
        
        I've included a photo of the runners (subframe) and next to it is a Triumph one. You can see that the width is identical making it such an easy swap.
