Your Thoughts On Pannel Work On Spit fire 1500 Im Looking To Buy...

Hello All,

I think ive got a bargain here... the mechanics all seem fine but not having owened a spitfire before i could do with your views on the bodywork before i comit to paying the money on monday. The car has under 70k miles which on the MOT certs seems to add up. The garage selling it on behalf of the owner has some valuation forms from TSSC upto 2004 valuing the car at around £3000...

The car has been owened by the same man since 1992 and from the MOT certs has been used very little. The price of the car is under £1300 and all i really need is a bit of advice on the pictures below. It seems to have been maintianed pretty well replacing parts as needed and has MOT till september 07 and tax till septermber 07.

1. is it normal for the bumper to have this angular gap? what causes it? is it easy to fix? how much should this cost to fix?

2. the drivers door seems to have dropped, could it just be a worn hinge etc or does it look more serious?

3. this is just a general picture from the left, to me for £1300 the pannels seem pretty straight, do you agree or am i looking through rose tinted glasses?

4. again this is just a general picture from the right, to me for £1300 the pannels seem pretty straight, do you agree or am i looking through rose tinted glasses?

I realise the questions im asking might not be appropriate for the pictues but really im just wanting to know if anybody can see any immediate bad points.

Regards Paul
