Morning all.... a little advice would be appreciated!
My Spit 1500 has gone in for it's re-spray, and I have a dilemma. My Spit had it's sills and below the rear bumper painted in a sort of thick black mottled
paint, perhaps some sort of protector? Was this original? I've been looking at some pictures of other Spits and I don't think I've seen this. Anyone know?
I don't know if I should get it all painted white, or have the black put back on as well, or if this protection can be done in the same colour as the rest
of the body!
I've attached a pic.
Thanks.
Jon.

I suspect the black paint is stone chip protector and IMHO is a good idea... however, you can choose to have it painted over (most types allow that) so
you get chip protection and it can still be white.
Don't think it was original, but I still think it's a good idea.

I had the same on my car before a re spay.
I do think the car looks better without it (just my opinion) also after the re spray I was told that not only was the black trim a pain to get off,
it also concealed some of the worst rot on the car and some poor bodge jobs.
