to all.
come last year all was fine untill one day i noticed that my bonnet had dropped...lovely...anyway it was the passenger side bonnet hinge had rotted. i went
to my local triumph breakers to source a ecent seconf hand one and found one to my luck but apun installation the bonnet sits a lot higher that the driver
side, i managed to ajust them to be a rough equal height but its still about an inch and a half high and looks a bit odd! any advice on what i could do, is
it a matter of buying new ones or what?
cheers
matt

hi matthew, dont think you need to buy a new bonnet. i used to have a mark 4 with the same trouble. the advice i was given was.
1)remove the bonnet hinge tube and bend it into shape, or
2)drill a 2nd hole near where the bolt goes through, insert the shim, allowing the bonnet to be adjusted.
i used option 2 with great success.
i suppose the proper way to do a lasting repair would be to remove the hinge pivot box and re weld it in the correct position.
hopefully there maybe others with other alternative solutions.

would not be the first time that the workshop picture has items drawn upside down like the herald/vitesse bonnet pivot plates (slot and hole on
opposite ends) hence no up down adjustment. when assembled according to wsm
