I have aquired a pair of stainless steel sill covers.
I will fit them over the next few weeks after a thourough Waxoyling of the sills inside and out.
I have seen a few Spits with them and very smart they look too.
My question is what is the best way to fix them? I have bought some stainless rivets for the bottom seam but what about the ends and top edge? Rivets?
Silicone? Rivets and silicone?
Any thoughts and suggestions most welcome.

I used stainless self tappers No.6x3/8" along top and bottom, but your rivets might be better as it's easy to strip threads in the bodywork if you have
to remove them a few times. I also drilled drain holes in them, to line up with the drain holes in the sills. You don't want your stainless sill covers
trapping water in so all the mild steel can rot away underneath. After fitting, I put some car body sealant along the top edge (above the top strip)
and at the ends. This lasted about 6 years before it started cracking, I renewed it earlier this year.
Not only do they do look smart but if you have a dark coloured car they make it look lower.
