Hi all.
I'm new to the TSSC its really good to hear so many like minded voices. A couple of months ago I bought a Mark IV Spitfire a car I had been looking forward
to owning for a good couple of decades! Unfortunately its had " some treatment" from previous owners.
I have finally got my Spitfire ready for paint stripping and welding.
The floor is currently covered in a mixture of old black underseal, red primer and three different colours of cellulose, oh and a good covering of surface
rust in the places missed by the underseal!
Once I have removed all of this and repaired the previous messy welding what should I re coat the floor with?
On another point - how on earth do most people remove old filler and old black underseal. the previous owner has used both in vast quantities!
I have many more questions but thats a start.
Cheers
Phil

Hi Phil
When I got my Mk4 the sills were painted in black underseal. I got all of this off by using a wire brush attachment on the end of a drill - bit brutal
but it does the job...... it would probably take off some of the old filler as well.
