I have a Mk IV spitfire that has rust holes along the floor pans where the floor meets the sills, both sides. Also both rear wheel arches have rusted away
and the rear valance is rusted through along the join. Now what I'd like to know is should I repair this body tub or would it be better to scrap it and buy
another one. for the record i cannot weld so i would have to pay for this work to be done. I realy missed driving my car this summer and would like to have
it back on the road for next year so I hope sombody can help.
Thanks for reading cheers MICKY G.

I personaly think that you should have the MkIV welded. I own a MkIV myself and I don't think I would have the heart to have it sent to the scrappy.
The other reason for welding it would be that you'll never find another Spitfire like yours, and it's nice to keep as many Spits on the road as
possible.

yeah!! Thanks Andrew. Made me feel guilty and now I'm going to keep my old rust heap and spend a fortune doing it up. The only problem is I have
already bought another one as a replacement, so now I have two Spitty's. On the bright side keeping it has made me visit an old friend to claim
back my mig welder he borrowed 8 years ago and have secured a second hand floor for 25 quid from a nice guy in Northampton. Thanks Ian for that.
Looks like a busy winter for me but two spitty's does sound like fun. Oh well back to the garage.
Cheers lads.

Your car sounds in fairly good condition!!
Definitely weld it up, doing both sides (one at a time please) of the sills isn't too bad. Just make sure you brace the door gaps and top of
the windscreen frame. There is a defined length of wood to wedge against the screen top, anyone know it???
