Which shocks?

Hi folks, finally got the car mot'd yesterday,well chuffed, however the front suspension is too high, by about 2 inches. I was wondering if i could get away with just buying shorter springs or whether to replace the front shocks aswell. Which are the best ones on the market? im looking at either
1.Gaz
2.Koni
3.Spax
Would really appreciate your input on this one, thats provided there are some of you left, and you havent all left for stafford yet!

Ring Mark Field at Jig Saw and he will tell you all about what you want in AVO's , springs and shocks

Change the shocks too and as Michael said - get some AVOs as they are rate and height adjustable on-car.

Nice big adjuster knob too on my front AVOs, not the nasty little screwdriver slot like the Spax on the rear (but they did cast me Â£20 the pair - new so not complaining).
