After putting up with a very rattly ride at the rear of my Mk2 for a couple of years I'm considering replacing the rear spring. How can I tell if this is
the cause of the hard ride?
If I do replace it, is it worthwhile fitting the swing spring conversion kit (as offered by Canley) or for general road use, will it be adequate to just
fit a replacement standard spring .

I have a swing spring on my Spitfire and a non swing on my Bond. I can honestly say that the swing spring is so superior that in due course I will
convert the Bond (when I have taken some advice on whether to fit one designed for a Herald or a GT6 or something in between). This is not just a road
holding "on the edge" view, but is also based on comfort and general driveability. If you do go for a swing spring, then I would strongly recommend
that you also fit the complete kit which should include a stiffer anti-roll bar as well as longer half shafts.
