I think my Diff is on the way out. It's started making a lot of clunks recently (even more than when i got the car 4 months ago). I checked all the UJ's
and they seem to be ok.
I have a few questions that I've been storing up. Feel free to answer or laugh in equal parts
1) Is is possible to change a diff with a car on axle stands?
2) Is it easyish?
3) Having not had a classic car before I was wondering if the exchange surcharge for a reconditioned diff was added or taken away from the retail price of
&163;357 on Rimmer Bros.
4) Is there any tests that have to be done on a re-fitted diff like you do when you balance a prop shaft?
I do like to get my hands dirty and do stuff on my car (one of the reasons is being poor after buying, insuring and taxing the car!) and if I could save a
few hundred quid getting a diff fitted it would be nice.
Any other helpful suggestions would be appreciated.
