I´m restoring my brake and clutch master cylinders right now. I´ve cleaned them outside and even managed to open the reservoir
lid on both. The push rod is out on both BUT the rest refuses to come free. Any ideas how to get the plunger assembly out of the cylinder body ?! Cheers

Hi Joachim
From what you say, you have removed the circlip and the "innards" still will not come out. What frequently happens is that old brake fluid hardens
inside the last bit of the cylinder, reducing the bore, and preventing the piston from coming out easily. Fortunately, there is a spring inside trying
to push it out. What you need to do is push the piston back into the bore, and carefully clean out the rubbish that has collected. then repeatedly push
in the piston, and let the spring push it back out. Each time it will come a bit further, until it comes out completely. It worked for me on both
cylinders.
The way rcommended in the Triumph Repair Manual is to put a compressed air line on the fluid outlet. I guess this would work but it sounds a bit
dodgy!

Why is it dodgy? Regulate the pressure and wrap the cylinder in a cloth to stop bits flying all over the work bench. Yes, a lesson I learnt the
hard way.

Hi Roger and Adrian.
Thanks for the help. The brake master cylinder parts are out using Rogers technique. So the clutch parts now stick deeper in the bore... I
think/hope time and constant cleaning will bring them out some day.
