Hi, wondering if anybody has any ideas as to what may be wrong with my little spit.
Yesterday she has started making a rather horrible rattling noise. It sounds like it is coming from the bellhousing area. The noise is best described as a
metallic rattling and it seems to only happen when the clutch is engaged, it is at its worst when creeping at the biting point. When depressing the clutch
the noise stops completely. The noise seems quite random, it does not always happen and the volume can vary greatly.
Over the last few weeks I had started to notice a slight knocking noise when pulling away in first, this could be felt through the clutch pedal. It was
almost like a creaking/ knocking and was not particularly loud at all. As it didn't seem to affect how the car drove I ignored it but I wonder whether this
new rattling noise is connected as it seems to happen at the same time as the knocking was before.
Last week the clutch was juddering a fair amount one day which is something i've not noticed before. I have driven it every day for the last 14 months that
I have owned it.
Any adive would be greatly appreciated, I imagine I am going to have to take it to a garage to get it sorted as I dont have the time (or a garage) to look
into this myself. As it's my daily driver I need to get it back on the road ASAP but I would like to have an idea as to what it could be so I can prepare
myself for the cost!!
Thanks in advance,
Rich
