Pot Type Prop - URGENT HELP!

Posted By : Andrew Szczecinski, 02-Mar-2007, 08:15pm

Hi

Replacing the UJ on the propshaft and wanted to whip off the prop to make life easier. Its the first time i have had a look at a pot type and have a few questions

As yet i haven't removed the prop from the overdrive end but If i grab the shaft i can slide it back into the pot two or three inches - is this normal? What am i looking for in terms of wear?
I can just about see a bearing in there - looks like a CV type joint???
Also - should there be a rubber boot or seal that fastens to the pot and then onto the main part of the shaft to keep the crap out of the pot and bearing???

Thanks - Andy
