modified, i know canleys do new ones that fit but at £170 its way out the budget, anyone know where i can find one?

Since there were no original alloy bellhousings for single rail gearboxes, the only ones you are likely to find are Canley's or some other after-market
specialist production.
They are expensive, but lightness does cost! There is a lot of work in casting and machining a bellhousing.
I am not sure about the difference between single rail and 3 rail bellhousings. I THINK the principal difference is an extra hole in the single rail
bellhousing toward the top where the gear selector shaft can move forward when selecting 2nd and 4th (?) gears.
There may also be differences in the sealing arrangements around the input shaft.
It MIGHT be possible to machine a 3 rail alloy bellhousing to fit a single rail box, but you would need to have a careful look at the two bellhousings
side by side before making any conclusions.
