Hi,
I have a recently aquired a very nice Spitfire MKIV 1300 engine with a stage 4 head fitted. I was wondering if it possible to attach this engine to a
single rail gearbox with J-tpye overdrive. The obvious problem is the clutch size and number of splines. Has anyone had any experience of using this
combination?
Cheers,
Tim

Tim,
A Member in our local Area has just fitted a 3 rail, D type overdrive gearbox to a 1500 Spitfire engine in his Herald.
The new clutch had to line up with the bolt holes in the 1500 flywheel, and have the correct number of splines for the input shaft of the 3 rail
overdrive gearbox.
Although this is not your configuration, Canley Classics provided the correct clutch combination.
