We got a good race write up in Autosport magazine this week with our races taking up about a third of the meeting's write up. Not bad as it was an MG meeting.

Also got half a page article concerning the crash at the end of race two where the bouncy barrier was thrown across the track. Some pictures too so if John KY and John Low want to see pics of their Spits in the national press then this is the week to buy (plus the TRs of Graham Miller, Eddie Driver and Steve Small)

And another thing, on the ten tenths motorsport forum our race also got a mention I Quote an MG Racer:-

"Some very good racing, and here I must swear, sorry folks, but the first Triumph race was incredible, so close all the time at the front, with several battles down the grid too"

Mmmm just the sort of publicity we need! Shame the journalist couldn't get Eddie's name right - goes to all the bother of wrecking his car and two others in the persuit of fame in the press and they get his name wrong!

  Thankfully, the article is more concerned with the track fixtures and fittings breaking free and blocking the circuit. You can tell by the lack of damage to Edwin's car that his 'touch' with John couldn't have been that hard. It was collecting Steve's car that did all that damage (as it was bounced back onto the circuit).
  
  However the first race was pure entertainment... absolutely brilliant, wow, what a race..

    Thanks for the tap off...err sorry, tip off Andy. I rushed out and bought a copy yesterday. If Steve and Eddie hadn't come together, I reckon Eddie would have got away with the just the dent in his nearside front wing (see main pic!).

I would love to read this but in south manchester Autosport is unheard of, tried 7 newsagents and all I got was funny looks and "what is it?". Could some one post the article or bring a copy to Cadwell. I just want to see if my fantastic (lucky) win was mentioned.
I told a few people that my engine didn't sound right after the second race, this I discovered was due to doing the whole race with no oil filler cap on the rocker box. Very little oil came out, about 10-15cc and it all ended up in the passenger footwell with little or no mess in the engine bay.
Well done to Mark Hadfield a great guy to race with and getting harder to beat at every meeting.
I hope to see you at Cadwell Kev, good luck with the rebuild.

  I'll bring a copy to Cadwell Rej. No specific mention in the text of your sneaky win (he hid behind a TR7V8 when catching me up and I did'nt notice as I was changing the CD - Number 474 in the Racing Driver's book of excuses)

    Thanks Andy, the art of getting passed you is something I've been working on for six years, it goes something like this "stealth, stealth and more steath, if you can't out drive em' supprise em".
    Now I've got to figure out how to get past Kev, Dave, Clive, John...........etc........etc.
