Marshals' Track Day

Posted By : John Davies, 25-Feb-2005, 10:13am

All,
I have learnt from a rally friend of the Marshals' Track Days that are being organised by Jonathan Palmer and the Brands Hatch organisation.
See: http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/brands-hatch/new...

The original object was to give marshals a free track day to enjoy in their own cars, but the take up seems to be very low - see that webpage. My friend is associated with the Oulton Park event, now fixed for the 15th November, and tells me that at Oulton they are now looking for drivers who will enter their own rally/race cars and take marshals for laps as passengers. The other Brands Hatch circuits will or have held trackdays - see webpage.
Rally cars will be more suitable because they have two seats, but I am told the event will be open to race cars as well if they have a passenger seat and belts.

I don't imagine many Triumph racers will have a passenger seat and belts, but some may be able to fit them easily. The intent of the day, to offer something back to the marshals, has to worth supporting and it will be free to the drivers, as long as they can and will take passengers.
