Kas Kastner, Standard Triumph's USA Competitions Manager and tuning guru has written another book. Folllowing the success of the last one, I and others like me, nagged him to put the rest of his musings on paper. He's done just that and gone one better, updating things and looking at the Triumph tuning scene today. He's added contributions from owners and enthusiasts around the world. He's also done some articles on various famous components like Carillo Rods and JE Pistons, how they are made etc.
Here's a picture of the book cover that should give you an idea of the content. I haven't seen a fully finished book yet as it's still in the printers but the stuff I have seen as work in progress was good. This included how to let your 1500 rev safely without spinning the bearings through oil starvation.
I am going to import some copies in from the US where it's being printed now. It's not available in the UK otherwise. Kas has agreed to sign some for me for free and I'll pass those on to the first buyers. I've yet to do a deal on costs but it looks like I should be able to get them to UK buyers for &163;25 ish including delivery to your door, maybe less if I can get a big enough order.
I bought loads of copies of the last book into the UK and have been corresponding with Kas ever since - mainly encouraging him to write this book and trying to talk him into coming to the UK. Negotiations continue!

I've just had word from Kas that the book is imminent, probably back from the printers in the next 10 days or so.

There are also a limited number of re-printed Vol 1 books available. This reprint is the same as the version you have but with corrected typos and some better quality pictures, I haven't seen it so I'm not sure if it's hugely better - Kas was very annoyed at the picture quality in the original print run. I can get these at the same price.

With the interest I have I can do one big order and I probably won't do another or if I do it won't be at this price so if you know anyone who wants one let them know. I managed to get a few books signed last time round but it was pot luck who got what - I'll try again but expect an unsigned one and you might be surprised - and no, I'm not going to charge a premium for signed ones.

All this needs a bit of financing so it's money up front with your order please - no money no order sorry. Here's how I want it to work -

Option 1
Transfer to my account at First Direct, Sort Code 40 47 79 Account Number 71490273 in the name of JR & CA Chinn - please email me your name, address, number ordered be clear if it's Vol 1 or Vol 2 you want, include the date and details of the transfer so I can find it on my statement.

Option 2
Post a cheque to Jason Chinn, 35 Goodliffe Gardens, Tilehurst, Reading, RG31 6FZ with your name, address and the number of books required, again, be clear if it's Vol 1 or Vol 2 you want.

I won't do Paypal as the fees will put the price up, hard cash is good if I see you

I'll leave the ordering "window" open for 10 days

Now last time we did this the first consignment of books took ages to come through - about 6 weeks, the next lot arrived in less than 6 days! Neither I nor Kas have any control over that. Once in the UK I will get out to you immediately. So I guess what I'm saying is please don't hassle me if they take a while - I reserve the right to refund you your money without interest and think bad thoughts about you if you do

I received the first consignment of Kastner's new book yesterday and have re-packed then to send out. Thanks to you all for coming up with the money to allow me to finance this.
I have another batch on the way from Kas that I have financed to satisfy the "inevitable" late demand - I hope that demand exists
