How's everyone getting on with pump fuel and additives? I am still getting significant valve seat recession and valve damage even when using Miller CVL. Apparently there were some fairly significant changes to petrol this year in the oil companies continued efforts to reduce emissions and it's not helping us...Does anyone still use leaded four star?

I've had no problems with the GT6... but that's converted...

For the racer there are no problems showing up but I haven't used CVL... 'Valvemaster' for me...
And before anyone makes any 'smart' comments the engine has done 13 races

    in tyhe 2.5pi, i got a seated head with a MU/FD from malc jones with (apparently) the insoluble rubber components.
    
    haven't noticed any change in performance, or event had any fuel vaporisation problems...

      Still on full fat leaded me, and the top half of my engine(s) are still good. (the less said about the bottom the better)
      
      I get leaded from a garage down the road but can be a bit steep at &163;1.10 a litre.
      
      Bayford are still the distributer and leaded petrol stations can be found here http://www.leadedpetrol.co.uk/
      
      Also on the site a letter to campaign to reduce the duty on leaded fuel to send to your MP.

        I found a garage near me that sells leaded petrol by chance...
        
        I'll be treating the race car to that next year.
        
        The road car is on Castrol Valvemaster ... has been for about 6000 miles.
        I really should get round to checking my valve cleareances...
        
        I think it was ok at the last service about a year ago...
