Racing...and money...and fun

To my mind the key way to do it less expensively is to buy a car that has already been at least partially prepared. It's really up to you then; the main mistake (which was in an earlier thread) is wanting to be competitive from the outset...forget it, it isn't going to happen unless you really know what you are doing.

It took Stack (and me) about 2 years to build Baby Blue and that was starting with an already prepared race car...and 15 years of racing experience!

Going fast just doesn't come easy as any of the guys racing will tell you. If it was just about lobbing money at cars I'd be averaging about 200mph by now!

Baby Blue is a very simple car built for relatively little money...there is absolutely nothing trick on it at all and it's only a shade off the mid-field Class C cars. It's just set up right and the money has been spent on the right bits...oh and Stacky's a pretty good driver too.

By the way Chris...don't fit an unleaded head to a race car - if the seat falls out (common) you'll knacker the engine big time. Just use Millers CVL or the like and live with some valve seat recession.
