All,
At Stafford and since, I have been told horror stories of officious scrutineers who check for date stamps on extinguishers, harnesses and even overalls.
Just thought I'd re-read the relevant paras in the Blue Book, and Lo! There is nothing there!
For the hand held extinguisher, according to Para Q3.4.2 a pressure guage is "recommended" (not mandatory) and to Para Q3.4.3 it must carry a tare weight.
Those will allow checking that the device has not leaked. Zilch about service dates.
Nothing about dates for plumbed-in ones either.
For seat belts, again nothing about 'sell-by' dates in Section Q3, nor in Sections E(Competitors) & J(Racing).
For overalls, BSEN533 (What?) will be no longer acceptable from 1/1/2005 (that's two oh oh FIVE) (Q9.1)
I'll be grateful if someone here can point me to the relevant Para(s). Otherwise, if challenged, I will ask the Scrutineer if he will be kind enough to do
so.

John is correct. I was pulled up at Rockingham about not having a 'Date last serviced' on my fire extinguisher but then could not find anything at all
about it in the blue book. Just in case though I had a local company do a weight check and visual inspection which cost me just a few quid.
It might be worth checking club SRs though as they can impose further restrictions.
I believe the seatbelt thing only applies to FIA events.
