Mik,
I have the luxury of working 5 mins from MSA HQ so it's never been a problem here
But for all you poor sods who don't live here, there are two options...
You can phone your local National 'B' scrutineer and arrange to meet to get your helmet approved (number in blue book). Or you can get it approved at your next event - but in this case you must phone the organisers first and check there will be the correct grade of scrutineer to do this.
Both will cost &163;1

I got mine sorted out at my first race, I went down to the scrutineers bay, told them it was my first season and they sorted out the sticker and gave me a bit of info about what to expect, and also told my to enjoy myself - which I have

Both Stacky and I had our helmets stickered at normal scrutineering for &163;1.-

Don't know if you remember or not but I got my helmet "done" at Brands Hatch last year! Cost me a quid!! (Now all I need to do is concentrate on building me race-car!!!) Errrrrmmmm!!!!!
Got all the bits (and more) just gotta find the time, the space, the knowledge!!, and of course the good weather!! I could I suppose use what spare time I've got to build a covered working area in the back garden - gawd - "I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure"!!
