can you chapps tell me how long your cams last before you change em?

From a combination of my experience and that of others, a cam is likely to last somewhere between half a race and 4 or 5 seasons.
It's most important to check that the followers have a small chamfer at the lobe-face end. I recommend you carefully deburr the chamfer with an oil
stone.

I'd say leave it. It might be worth checking the cam timing though as even the duplex chains stretch a little.
