TRR/TSSC!?

Andy mentioned this in an earlier post and I happend to agree with him.

Why don't we amalgamate the championship (I mean it pretty much is already) to just form one big Triumph love-in? Moss Europe Triumph Sportscar Championship, Cock-a-hoop cup or whatever.

We may bring in support from other Triumph clubs as well this way, perhaps we might even get a race prepared Standard Atlas Van, or a couple of Stags There are also the 'best of the rest' type clubs, like Club Triumph etc. members of which may be put of attending meetings or, indeed, racing at all because they may have had a bad experience with one or t'other of the clubs.

I appreciate that there has to be an organising club (currently the TRR, I think) from an MSA point of view. But it does seem a little 'exclusive' at the moment.

Probably a little contentious and I expect to get flamed for even asking, but what the hell - I've been at work since 6.30 and I'm in a BAAAAD mood

  I think you'll find a few drivers agreed with you on this one Rich - I do, Andy too! I know JT is dead against it though ??
  
  I spoke to Mike earlier this year about triumph saloons and he told me we were a sports car championship and he didn't want saloons. But Jon Wolfe knows three dolomites who want to play and I have been contacted by a triumph 2000 racer too.
  
  In principal, I think it's the way ahead, but this would require a serious look at classes and regs etc, as the change is radical to say the least.
  
  You may find the Organising clubs TRR/TSSC will want their name in the championship name somewhere.
  
  How about the Triumph Saloon and Sportscar Championship - errr T.S.S.C. ?
  
  I am working on getting Mike to handover some of the work but he doesn't want to let go never mind, I've concentrated on publicity instead. Keep an eye out for Retro cars magazine mid next month (or so) you can then take the pi** out of Andy and Barry to your little hears content see pic he he
