Cadwell is a one day meeting on Saturday 14th July. I have the entry form in front of me as I type. Normally that will mean practice will be in the morning and racing in the afternoon. We don't know yet what order the programme will run in so don't know what time we'll be out however turning up on Sunday will mean you definately won't see us.-

So much for how easy it is to enter oline at the NGCC website:

And I thought it was Microsoft that gave the obscure 'Help' notices.

It's p*ss*ng with rain and with no rear axle, I can't get the car off the trailer and into the garage.
So I'm working under a gazebo, and stop when it gets dark.
But progressing, so I MIGHT make Stafford, but I WILL make Cadwell, IF I can make this BLOODY ONLINE ENTRY WORK.

No wheels on my wagon, hoping for new halfshafts this week, meanwhile working on the body damage in the p*ss*ng rain.
Even under a gazebo it gets through as a fine spray when it's this heavy.

In another thread, someone asked if Stafford was going to be too wet to camp.
Cadwell is very well drained, but what about the camping field there - anyone know?

I typed in "Nat A" for licence grade if thats any help.
Good luck with your repairs, I watched the wheel detach from the sidelines, the wheelless corner dug in pretty hard putting the car up on an angle before coming down with a thump. Surprisingly violent for quite a slow corner.
The whole incident even managed to distract me from chatting to the extremely attractive Australian lady marshal working the corner for a moment or two

Well my car is back together with re-ground and nitrided crank lots of cleaning done to the oil galleries and new oil pump oh ! and a spangly baffled sump that will hopefully prevent the same happening again even got hold of some nice lead copper big ends.
As for cadwell i still have not had any reply of Steve Carr regarding any refund from Silverstone so its looking doubtfull at the moment

Glad to hear that you've got the engine back together. Hopefully your spangly baffled sump will be functional as well as bling! It is absolutely vital that you have effective baffling and a windage plate in your sump - especially as you get faster - a sure way to run a bearing is oil starvation caused by the cornering forces throwing the oil away from the pick up. I learned a lesson at Spa some years back. I had run without a proper baffled sump without trouble on the little circuits in England - I went to Spa and the long high speed sweepers forced the oil out of the sump, up the inside of the block and out of my block breather - that caused the oil catch tank to overflow and my windscreen and front wheels to be covered in oil down the approach to the Bus Stop. Blind and brakeless - nice!-

Its good to hear that other people have all been through this beforehand. The sump i managed to pick up off Dave sideways Powell instead of just having longitudinal and transverse baffles it also has a nice big windage tray covering the top he also threw in a modified oil pump (blueprinted) and pick up pipe (Rear facing pickup pipe cut re- angled to the bottom of the sump and slightly twisted to the right)
Lets hope it all works
What has done my head in is my freshly rebored block still having 22 thou ring gaps! thats somebody else who i aint gonna use any more
PS must add the block was re-bored by a local engine specialist -

Particularly at Cadwell at the bottom of the gooseneck/mansfield where the lefthand braking and turning loads soon show up any deficiencies.
Who's thinking about the allcomers? I've held off for now as cash is a bit tight but may try my luck on the day if I can earn a bit more by then.

will be at the circuit at about 10.30 am, if you want to wait around the entrance, i should recognise the camber of your rear wheels before any thing else,

Rained all day in Louth. A mate of mine as spent the day up there on a bike track day, said it was covered in rivers!! Hopefully it'll be nice and sunny for tomorrow. Not sure what time I'll get there, Ill give you a buzz. Bringing Caroline along so she can see I'm not the only Triumph nut! Guess the only problem is whether it's gonna make me want a 1500 and ditch the drum brakes........... Looking forward to it.
ps. The newly fitted mudflaps now hide the camber!

And a fab day was had by all, Andy Parrish and Caroline turned up for the fun in his immaculate herald, beast of burden that it is, although the mound where we sat visibly emptied when he took his shirt off, a very nice man in his vitesse(minilites and roll bar) who i am ashamed to say i did not ask his name, was also there as were a few of those who i imagine were regular supporters, a band made up of wags, families and the Binman. A happy band who sailed the triumph flag on the octagon sea.(eh?)
The weather was kind and i would like to say thanks to the tssc racers for making us feel part of the racing scene if only for a little while, and special thanks to Ian and Nigel for their generosity, ( i beat the racers at something, my car is louder than theirs).
can't wait till the next race nearby as i think i m,ay have to go to that one too!

Hey up Calvin........if you think the back was bad, good job you weren't sat in front to see my ever growing 'man boobs'. Not seen the sun for months and forgot the feeling of sun burn.......... it's great!!
Had a fantastic day all round. Hats off to everyone involved. A great spectacle topped of nicely by the glorious weather.
Also, if the chap with the blue Vitesse would like to drop me a line, I may be interested in your headlamp covers. Meant to have a word with you at the end of the day but I guess I was too excited about racing the Herald home!

Guess I twisted the truth slightly there Calvin...... all I could think of in reply to your offensive comments! Just downloaded the pics from yesterday and a couple of vids of action over the mountain. The GT6 looks stunning. (sorry I dont know the name of the owner, couldn't afford a programme!) Opened my curtains this morning to find a very wet Louth, glad it's not happening today. Right, off to Wilkos for some after-sun, I'm in pain!!
