As we're on a thanks thread for Snett, I need to make a list.
Firstly to Mark Field of Jigsaw for getting me a race ready bottom end in super quick time from me phoning him last Monday and picking it up on
Thursday evening. For those not in the know I had destroyed my own crank and flywheel at the previous Donington race on Saturday.
After some problems on raceday, not completly surprising from an engine that only completed assembly/fitting the previous morning with only
tickover testing. I had huge help from the following to rebuild cooked rocker gear
and a blown head gasket. (perhaps 7000+rpm on a previously un-run engine was not a good idea!!!)
Barry Blakeley for the loan of a rocker oil feed kit.
John Thomason for the loan of a rocker shaft and his advice on oil delivery.
Martyn Stackpoole for help in getting the head off.
Mark Hadfield for getting the cooling system back on line.
Kev Hadfield, Jon Wolfe, Clive Gimson, Dave Thompson, John Andon and many others for
their aid, encouragement for not letting me put it on the trailer and go home with my tail between my legs.
To those who have not yet seen the TR/TSSC racers in action on and off the track, it is a sight to behold when a seemingly unrepairable car is in
the
paddock and help arives from all quarters with spare parts appearing magicly from the darkest confines of towcar boots. The friendliness and
camraderie of the championship is second to none -Thats until the race starts of course
