dunno if we are allowed to discuss it, so I won't...

I was about 30 feet behind the incident..

I wondered if I should have gone and told anyone what I saw.. or asked anyone if they wanted to know what I saw... whether I would be seen as too biased... and I also wondered how sure I would actually be of what I saw..

I'm pretty sure of what happened,.. but could I put my hand on my heart and swear to it ?

did an observer see what happened ? I presume Richard is ok.. but the car didn't look like it would be from the impact..

and what was the outcome.. ??

I didn't really get to see anyone yesterday..

I would have come over.. but after our race I was running around making sure the car would be ok for 28 laps of fun... and more specifically trying to finalise what the refuelling situation would be, as the marshalls were STILL confused about it all,.. even though the drivers had been to a "refuelling briefing" and seemed to know more about what was going to happen than the marshalls..

I'll say what my perception of the accident was if I'm allowed... just tell me...

For gods' sake stopp faffing and just tell us...

AFAIK Richy was unceremoniously punted off by a Morgan and they both went in the gravel... the Morgan got out and Richy didn't... car and Richy are both doing well...

well..

on ten tenths anytime that anyone goes to describe an incident.. the mods jump straight on and start closing threads and giving warnings and things..

its not exciting or anything..

its just that we went round the left (the flat out bit) at becketts..

and a morgan that had just come past me was between Rich and I..
(infact I think there was two of them.. as I think on ethen went either side of Rich at the right handy bit)

and then as we reached that fast right bit where you start braking..

it decided that there was no way it was going to wait.. or go round Rich, so it decided to make the track about 5 feet wider.
I believe he was already on the grass trying to overtake Rich on the grass when it all went haywire and he run into the side of him..

I saw them pirouette off to my right as a syncronised pair,.. and if there was anything between them it was only about an inch. so I was sort of presuming that Rich's car had damage all down one side.

I didn't see it.. so was it that bad.. ?

the bit that I thought may have been contentious was that he was already way off the track when he ran into Rich..

he was never going to make the corner anyway.. and it was all a bit kamikazee

If the Morgan went off circuit (corner cutting) and hit Richy when it came back on then he should have been hauled to the CoCs office... the observers will have reported it but unless Richy (or yourself) made a complaint then it is likely that nothing was done.

Nah, I didn't complain, just happens dunnit? Cheers though Dave, that pretty much tied in with what my mate (who was spectating at that corner) said, so at least I know now that I wasn't at fault.

No real damage to the car, nothing I can't cover up with my new Gaytona stickers anyway.

Good race though, up until then at least...

Sounds like an unlucky incident. Did you go through your good luck inducing seatbelt tightening ritual before the race? perhaps an extra couple of tugs are needed before you go out next time.
