Hi Kev,
I don't see why not. I've checked the regs and it is invited clubs only but I reckon you could get in. I don't think you registered with the TSSC this year but you could enter in the invitation class - Nigel would confirm. You can download an entry form from the MGCC website and get it in tomorrow by fax. It would be good to have you and Diane back round the campfire.

I certainly plan to be there from Thursday through to Sunday. Can't wait to see your new car and I look forward to being reduced to the "ever so humble" Dave Thompson as you romp to victory.
PS. There have been some developments in the Scuderia Wolfe so don't think you'll have it all your own way!-

My plans are to arrive around friday lunch time and go testing... staying in the paddock until the end of the weekend... *it could change and I could be there on Thursday.

Excellent, now I'm REALLY excited. Just finished all the painting last night so only need to add some stripes, bleed the brakes, fit the bonnet pins, do a few miles and I'm sorted. As for my competiveness who knows, the car feels a bit weird after the first couple of runs up the in-law's drive. Probably beacuse I've fixed all the last eight year's worth of bodges properly, and its now behaving to the laws of physics rather than the lucky guess it was before.
Good luck at Oulton, I'm off to the beach with the familly to build up my brownie points for racing the rest of the year.

Everyone doing the 75Km race too? I'm doing it in my GT6 then coming back home to get the V8 for the Sunday. New engine for the GT6 - looking forward to it!

Jon, I'm suprised that you're not having it delivered to the circuit for you! After strolling up to Snetterton on Sunday morning to your car and residence already installed I thought your days of menial tsks were behind you.-

Looking forward to it, hopefully get some more numbers, and hopeflly some close racing! Just got to stop the car from overheating within 20 minutes..... lots of ducting and bigger radiators-

Friday test (and scrutineeering for the weekend) then if your not competing inthe 75k race - put your feet up and join the cheering section for the day.

If not done already, try tilting/moving the rad forward so its not close to the front of the engine giving the cooling air has somewhere to go and not stall around the front of the engine. Could be a cheap fix and worth a try. Worked for me.
Friday night very possibly BBQ night, bring beer and soapbox, especially if not racing on Saturday.
Steven, if coming to spectate don't forget to make yoursef known to the TSSC camp, bring overalls, and if coming in your Triumph hide it as spare parts scavengers will possibly be in action

Or something like that - paddock bikes/scooters?
Autotest style, round the bollards, in and out of 'garages' - I can't see Silverstone being keen on 40mph racing in the outfield.
Or are you all too busy with your race cars to bother with that?

I heard that couple of the caterham drivers went off to one of the big car parks at Silverstone and played autotesting in their cars at their meeting.
(There are some BIG car parks around)
They recieved endorsements on their licences iirc, they *may* have been fined too, but I can't remember fully what their punishment was. Just mentioning in passing......

Nigel, All,
Like a good boy, I've been reading the Final Instructions, and see that we are to race with all two of the only entrants to the "Power Torque Morgan Challenge". These cars are 4.5 and 4.6 LITRES respectively.
We're used to racing with the TR8s, and accept that they are much the more powerful and faster and are likely to lap back markers, who consequently get a shorter race. How much faster will cars be with another litre of capacity, that are are as race prepared as any in our series? With only eight laps to race, how many Triumphs will get short measure?
Any idea how competitive are the Morgans with our front runners?

Just found the other sheet of Morgans!
J*mp*ing J*s*s, there are as many of them as there are of us!
This means that instead of four V8s in our race we now have TWENTY V8s.
Hmmmmm. Is this a race for small sports cars or a rerun of Days of Thunder?

I expect it will be a big race then?
You may remember that we shared practice last year with these cars and looking at the times from that session I'm not overly worried. As you can see in the link below, the fastest of them was only 6 seconds faster than Andy Vowell (who was top triumph). For some reason the TR7V8s didn't put in a very good showing last year in qualifying...
I remember Jon had a new engien that about to crap out on him a couple of races later and Hugh is faster this year. So although they'll be something different for you to share the track with, I'm not overly worried.

Thinking of popping up for a watch, provided I get around to topping up the gearbox oil (overdrive got slow around Rouen on the way back from Le Mans and didn't work at all from Portsmouth to London so there can't be very much left in there now!).

There will be practice and racing on both Saturday and Sunday. The TSSC championship event is on Sunday but there is also a 75Km "all-comers" race on saturday which I believe a number of Triumphs have entered. -

Our race is event 14 on the weekend... as there is usually around 16 events that will put us toward Sunday evening... probably around 16.00hrs. But it's difficult to pin it down as only the very first race of the day has a scheduled start time... the rest just run as soon as the track is ready...

...particularly since the link posted above is to *last years* timetable when we did indeed have seperate races if I remember correctly. As an aside, MST seem to have messed up (this years) PDF document posted on their site as it only has our practice times in it and not the race ones (or even the result)
