  Thanks john, i think big smiles all round been chasing the win for a long time Stacky has been a tough cookie to crumble. Looking forward to the rest off the season Me,you,Stacky,Barry and Richard its going to be close. Just been watching the video of the race great action all round, the main attraction I think so

    Yep a good game for all, the class A battle is hottong up. Disappointing to only get half the race and have to stop early, but possibly a blessing though as driving from the park ferme to the van I noticed the tale tell sounds of a blowing head gasket or cracked exhaust manifold.
    
    Any chance of getting Diane's Video posted on the net anywhere?

      I now have to go and have a sit down, nice cup of coffee and spend my working week planning how to build more reliability into my engine Although, to be honest, I was suprised how well the cobbled together engine was working for the (albeit) brief while that it did...

        Best days racing I've had so far yesterday , marred only by the disappointment of the race getting cancelled halfway through . I even managed to get my first "pot" out of it too - even if that was mainly because JY pulled off. What happened John?

          Bugger!! I knew I'd miss a great day's racing!! I had to wait for a guy to turn up to give me a quote for a garage base - he turned up at 2 p.m., stayed 45 minutes and then left!! The good news is though that the quote seems to be the best one and also the best quality out of the the four I've had. So it's now down to getting building regs application in, set dates for the base to be done (earliest will be first week in July!) and then the double garage installed. Electrics will be done after that and then I can give some serious attention to my race car project!!
          
          Also hearty congrats to Mark - well done!! Erm - what caused the red flag??

            All,
            I have now been through the Oval Experience! I think everyone agreed that it was not a boring track at all, just very different and exciting. I'll look forward to going back.
            What I will not look forward to is repeating my disgraceful exit far too early in practice. No excuses, I must have been trying too hard, too early, ended in the gravel at Yentwood and red flagged the session so that everyone else got only half their time. Sorry guys. That our race was red and then chequer flagged by an event in EXACTLY the same place and we got little more than half our race timer as well was nothing to do with me, though I saw it happening ahead and thought, "Deja vu" at the time.
            
            Nor will I look forward to being in the outer "paddock", aka just another public car park. I hope the Winnebago owners agree, as they went without the power and water supplies in the inner paddock. No paddock PA system, inaudible public PA system and unless you could blag a lift a very long walk down to the inner paddock. I had to do this several times, to see the Clerk and the meeting Secretary several times (that's a different story, but I have had my memories revived vividly of being sent to the Headmaster's study!)
            
            This very different course revealed for more than the consistently fast and flat Castle Combe that, apart from being a better driver, I need to work harder at adjusting the car to suit the circuit. And I need an overdrive box, or to trust my engine building skills and let the engine rev more than 6K. Hitting the rev limiter by the time I exited Turn 4 meant that I had no hope of catching Spitfires doing 7 and more. What do the TRs do, apart from 14" wheels?
            
            Deep thanks to Jonathan B and Vinnie P, who turned out again as spannermen and all round good guys. Spitfire Aces forever! (See seperate commercial! )

              Well Mik, it was like this: After beating Stack to the first corner I started to feel light headed so decided to pull in for a bit of a rest to come to terms with my achievement!.... head gasket blew, all sorted this morning so looking forward to Snetterton.
