  I don't think I'm going to be the only one to say this but fitting a Camber Compensator will reduce your ground clearance more than fitting the spacer would. They bolt under the diff and reduce the ground clearance there - at least the spacer will lower your Centre of Gravity too. Won't stop tuck under though
  
  I don't know of anyone manufacturing them though - maybe a second hand one will come up.
  
  We had a thread about this about a month ago and the general consensus was we didn't like them .

    They are bloody awful things - it's better to make sure you have about 2 degrees of negative camber on the back and have decent shocks set to about 'medium'. Also it's best to use the later swing-spring arrangement from a IV/1500 rather than the fixed rear sping fitted as standard to the MkI - MkIII.

  I have one of these hanging up in my garage that I do not intend to use.
  I have no idea of value but I am open to offers or swap for a mk3 Spit f/glass roof or boot lid.

  I think Jon "Binman" Binnington will make you one - if not he knows who does I've never run with one but most people complain about loss of ground clearance although the handling improvements are marked and arguably worthwhile.

    I agree with J. I have one fitted to a Herald and there do work well, but watch the ground clearance if you are fitting to a Spitfire.

  I wish I could fit a later rear end but the historic rally regs only allow mods which would have been fitted in period - all very wooly but I don't want to have to drop out in the Scrutineering bay!!
  
  Same problem with the ally block. I guess I'll have to do some reading and perhaps buy a copy of the Works prep notes to see what they used.
  
  Barry - If you could let me know how much you want for the one on your wall I can at least give it a try. Sorry I havn't any swaps so it'll have to be quids. Hope you're not too far from me (Wincanton).

  Does anyone know if there is an early Spit doing classic rallying? I saw a glimpse of one on a programme about the 2004 Classic Monte the other day but it didn't show the number.

    If you do a deal on the compensater I only live 16 miles from Wincanton (in Frome) so could transport it back from Barry to the West Country on the April 6th trackday or 10th Silverstone race.
    
    You may want it quicker but the offer is there.
