I ran with a controller for most of last year, but I am not using it this year. So if you want one, I have a spare - any offers?
I found it tended to stay on in any case as the lowest setting is for 80 degrees C. I fitted a resistor (supplied free from Davis Craig) to
bring it down top 70 degrees.
Don't worry about getting the engine up to temperature - you get plenty of time. Infact, without a fan I'm stuggling to keep the temp down
until the green lights.
As for the on/off debate - you can have a seperate switch or simply link it to the ignition. Pro's and Cons? Well if you have the switch you
can turn it off, but then again you can forget to turn it back on. Also, The switch should be 'out of the way', John Thomason once turned his
off mid race during a particulary violent corner and ran nearly the whole race without any pump
I have an on-off switch and idiot light
