I am currently recommisioning my Vitesse classic race car and I am looking for a Triple SU carb and manifold set to suit the MK2 engine.

I think I remember reading some time ago that John Thomason was having some made or looking for interest in the view to having them made.

If there is anyone in the club that could help or advise I would appreciate it. Performance parts are very scarce here in New Zealand for the Vitesse.

Morning Graham,

I don't think John reads the MessageBoards - he's not a big fan of the computer thing but you may want to get intouch with him - his details are in The Courier (won't post them here). He's the Spitfire MkIV/1500 Registrar and his contact details (club email) is listed on the Club Officers page here.

But, (and I wait to be corrected here) isn't the Vitesse Mk2 engine the same as the GT6 MK2/3 engine? If so shouldn't that stuff bolt on (providing there's room under the different shaped bonnet).

I know one of the racers has the triple SU set up on his Mk2 GT6 and he's looking for a triple Weber setup. So when he find one I expect he may have a set for sale - so they do crop up from time to time.

Graham,

Why is it that NZ is the only other place that has kept Vitesses racing? I knew of Barry Garland's Vit, but now you as well.

Haven't heard from Barry for an age - is he still racing? There are plenty here that will say I'm not, but my Vitesse will return!

Carburetor problem now solved have decided to go the weber route
A set of 40s came my way and a Moss inlet manifold is on the way which willgo over the Moss exhaust manifold I already have.
