I think thats just the way it works Don. That frame has to refresh itself every two seconds or whatever the delay is in order to go fetch the things
people have said in that time. If no-one has said anything, it still has to refresh itself in order for you to know that.
Just log in more often, that's the answer
Or more practically, make the window bigger so you can see more of the history at one go. Of course that depends how big your screen is...
Anyway, the topic under discussion changes so rapidly on there that it will probably have moved on by the time you have read the history

Mik's right in everything he's said. The window displaying previous messages has to refresh every few seconds.

Whilst trying to do exactly what you described Don (scrolling back to see the history) I discovered that if I hold down the button and keep the scrollbar moving slightly up and down, the refresh just causes a flicker rather than dumping you back to the bottom of the page again.
Still a little difficult to read stuff whilst you're jiggling the page up and down but better than having to go back and find your place every third word.
I'm using MS IE6 as a browser. This may not work the same way in other browsers.
