Hi, I would like to adjust the idling speed on my Herald 1200, fitted with the B 30 Solex carburettor. Does anyone know which of the two adjusting screws,
the idling mixture volume screw or the slow running adjustment screw do I adjust, or do I need to adjust both of them. Many thanks Steve

First adjust the slow running screw to a slightly fast tickover, then SLOWLY play with the volume screw to the point where the revs are highest and it
just sounds "right". Don't worry, it's quite simple really! Then adust the tickover back down to a sensible level ie just enough to keep it ticking
over smoothly at lights or whatever without "racing" (like it was on choke). Before you start make sure the ignition side is doing its best and that
the engine is hot after a run.
These are NOT complicated engines (or carbs) in any way-there really is no need for any fancy tackle! All you need is your ears and a screwdriver,
couldn't be simpler.
