Don't bend a replacement petrol pipe to shape before fitting the brass ends....
Plus:
Don't remove the old pipe before locating your pipe cutters for the new pipe, or even better, remember who you lent them to.

If replacing the shocks with one of those special Triumph spring compressors, make sure you have put the lower top bush and seat on the shock
before you clamp the spring fully down !! DOH !

When measuring valve clearances, make sure you use the correct feeler gauge. On my motorbike, i measured 16 clearances, every one was
on the tight side, I worked out what shims I would have to buy, then just by luck I measured a spare shim I had. 'something not right
here' I thought, so I re-measured all the clearances and found I had used imperial feeler gauges the first time instead of metric. DOH!
