  Do you put your car in a garage . If you do consider buying a dehumidifier about &163;100
  if your not there to empty plumb it up to drain outside.
  Putting a car into an air tight sealed unit sounds good but if your car has water and moisture on it im sure it will just deteriate just as fast because there is no fresh air to dry any dampness ect
  
  also for &163;400 how long is the warrenty if you have to drive over to get a air tight seal you could possibly damage the cover driving in and out

    I've had a 'Carcoon' for the past year to store a (genuine) 10000 mileage Moggy Minor - and so far has worked very well. They do two versions, an indoor and outdoor, we have the outdoor and has so far survived Coventry weather. The Carcoon has two fans which work permantly to dispel any moisture that may be on the car - so driving the car in wet is not a problem. It also has a trickle charge battery supply to keep your battery ready for action. As Raymond says some you have to drive on to - we do on our carcoon but have had no problems at all.
    The Carcoon does seem to be a little pricier than the permabags, but we have been very impressed and would recommend it.

      I have no garage and to be honest, dont have enough room on the drive to build one which also means that the car-coon and cair o port will probably also be too large. I am thinking that this would be used for winter only with storage for 4 months of the year only so getting it in and out wouldnt be a regular thing. During the spring and summer I would not use it much - only if a bad spell was predicted. Also as this has the canistors to absorb mositure, I do not see a major problem with putting it away wet as all this would mean is that the canistors would need re-charging often to start off with - maybe the solution would be to buy an extra canistor.
      
      Anyhow, thanks for your advice, I think I will try a permabag and an extra canistor but accept that the car coon would probably the technically superior product but it is just too large for the space available.

        Just a thought on the size issue -
        I don't know what car you are storing, but in terms of ours the Carcoon is approx. 1 foot longer at each end and about 6 inches wider than the car itself. We only have a regular size driveway and haven't had a problem with space. My only problem is getting around it when it's inflated (my wife did mention something called a 'gym' though

          Ah! this is a good point well put. I too have a spitfire and am happy to hear about the size of the car coon is too much bigger than the car itself! I shall look at the carcoon again! My girlfreind once metioned gym as well. I feel that it didnt go down well when I told her she looked like she had dodged a few salads in her time as well!

  This magazine seems to have been a great spontanious buy - not only does it have 50 tips for using your classic in winter, but also amazingly a write-up on storage 'bags', including the Permabag!
  
  They rate the Permabag Indoor as "Best Buy" and both the Carcoon Outdoor and the Hamilton Classic Cair-o-Port as "Recommended".

    That seems to be a lot of soding about . And at &163;442 bloody expensive for a gloryfied car cover.
    
    Every time you use your car youll have to fold it up and after a while i guess it will also be covered in crap.
